a year of interiors: joel janowitz’s zoom crit class

January 15 - February 26, 2022

A very productive group of artists spent 2020-21 sheltering in place and Zoom critiquing each other’s work weekly with instructor Joel Janowitiz. This show includes portraits and self-portraits, plein air, interiors and still lifes, views from windows or into windows. The possibilities were endless for this crit class which includes doctors, lawyers, teachers, a minister and a former mayor of Cambridge.

When considering what might tie these varied subjects and mediums together, they arrived at the theme “a year of interiors” because during the pandemic they were largely confined to home and the focus was inside. The work is personal, heartfelt and individual.
